Meet the Murphys

I've concluded that our children just can't help but get in trouble.  One morning, I awoke at 7 am, surprised the children had not come down to wake us from our slumber.  As I quietly contemplated the joys of motherhood, I heard some faint giggling.  I discovered that Wally had bumped the baby monitor plug and that the monitor was no longer transmitting.  I dashed upstairs to discover the twins and their apprentice having climbed to the top of Alex's closet and thrown every hanging and boxed item to the floor on the bottom.  Isn't that what you want to do first thing in the morning?

On a happier note, we went to the most mundane of city parades on July 4th and the kids absolutely loved it.  Even if it was just a completely plain car with a sign that said, "XYZ Real Estate Corp." our kids would jump up and down, wave their American flags excitedly, and shout, "they're coming!  they're coming!"  We still haven't ventured out to see fireworks with the children.  By the end of the day, I can barely keep my eyes open, let alone venture out to a potentially hazardous event.  Maybe in a few years.  Happy Independence Day!
